circa 1865, with octagonal 8in. barrel (pressure cracked near throat) signed by the maker and marked 'NEW-MODEL', pinched pillar fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, solid iron frame, plain six-shot cylinder, smooth walnut grips with traces of a marshal cartouche, brass trigger-guard bow and hinged under-barrel rammer, traces of original finish throughout
